Cultural Venues Technical Coordinator

Full Time/Permanent

$124,111.00 – $141,051.00 per annum plus superannuation

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.

About the role

The Cultural Space and Sector Development section within the Creative City Business Unit is responsible for the implementation of strategic initiatives, projects and programs that support the cultural and creative life of Sydney. The Venue Management section is responsible for delivering exceptional technical services for indoor landmark City Venues such as Town Hall

Core duties

The key purpose of the role is to ensure effective management and strategic oversight of the technical equipment and systems in cultural and creative facilities and landmark venues. We are looking for a technical specialist who can provide expert advice for venues and cultural facilities throughout the full project life cycle from concept, scoping, procurement, delivery, asset management and end of life renewal. You will manage core installed technical systems such as networking, vision, audio and lighting signal transportation including the design, programming and system maintenance of Qsys AV control systems.

Essential skills and experience

  • Strong production, technical, operational support and project management skills
  • Experience in procurement of technical equipment and managing contracts within government agencies
  • Experience in the delivery, commissioning and implementation of system upgrades
  • Experience with the development and maintenance of asset management schedules for creative venues
  • Use your technical experience and excellent advocacy, negotiation and relationship management to ensure end user satisfaction
  • High level communication skills, written and verbal, with strong computer literacy
