David Thomas, managing director of Crystal Productions, has been expanding the lighting component of his business with a selection of new gear from Show Technology.
“We needed to increase our lighting for corporate events so we could offer a simple, LED based solution,” he commented. “We are very loyal to Martin as they have great product and Show Technology offer great support.”
First on the shopping list were six Martin MAC Auras which David describes as an excellent wash light that is great value for money.
“The Auras have a wonderful zoom and really are a great package,” he said. “We also got sixteen Martin MAC101’s which are handy for everything. I love them. Every time we use them we find more uses for them. They’re fantastic for the corporate market; small, incredibly quick and have great colours.”
David then decided to purchase twelve Martin RUSH MH1 and twelve RUSH MH3 fixtures.
“If you going to do it, it’s worth doing it properly!” he added. “The RUSH is a very good product for its price, an excellent range.”
With all these fancy new lights David then needed a console to drive them all and so a MA Lighting grandMA2 lite was purchased as well as an onPC command wing.
“It’s user-friendly, rider-friendly and an outstanding console,” he noted. “It’s quick and easy to use.”
All of the new gear was used in the first official event to be staged in the new Dockside Pavilion (pictured), a bar mitzvah for 400 guests. The client had high expectations as to how the event should look and with Martin and MA Lighting’s help, David delivered.
