Crown Perth is one of Australia’s premier venues incorporating the Grand Ballroom, the Astral Ballroom, and the sophisticated meeting rooms Botanicals and Studios.
When AVPartners were appointed as the inhouse audio visual team for Crown Perth towards the end of last year, the first thing they did was ensure that this premier venue had a lighting control set up just as superior.
“We have installed a range of MA Lighting products including an MA2 light, MA2 ultra-light, MA onPC command wing, and an onPC fader wing,” said Mathew Brooke, AVPartners Crown Perth head lighting technician. “The MA2 light is the ideal size console for us and has all the features we need for the majority of our productions. The compact wings are the perfect solution for some of the really small productions such as weddings.”
Matthew loves the flexibility offered by the MA2 platform and the fact that it works so well for all different types of shows.
“There are so many ways of doing the same thing and there’s no one way you have to set the console up,” he added. “It may sound strange, but I really like the look and feel of the console – it’s actually nice to touch. It’s not clunky rather nice and soft to use!”
Added to the MA package was a variety of MA hardware such as an NPU and 8 port nodes allowing for a networked solution.
“Adding more hardware to our MA control expands its capabilities which is very handy for our large shows as it means we don’t have to hire extra equipment,” concluded Matthew.
