Crest Audio has announced the launch of new ClimateGuard series loudspeakers that offer enhanced weather-resistant features to help in providing optimal sonic performance in demanding climates.
The new series carries an IP56 rating and is waterproof, dust-protected, and capable of withstanding high heat and extreme sun exposure. The enclosures are made from an advanced composite material, with a proprietary Black Hammerhead polyurea finish adding an extra layer of protection.
Further, a stainless-steel moisture-repellent grille is equipped with a hydrophobic water-repellent cloth to help ensure dual-layer performance without compromising sonic quality. The back has a gland nut entry into the water-sealed input cup plate to curtail leakage where the cable enters.
Inside, there’s a conformal-coated crossover assembly where all components and the PCB are mounted with a layer of plastic coating to insulate against moisture. Connectors, including the 70/100-volt transformer option, employ waterproof automotive-grade connectors.
Composite fibre panels have a resilient construction, including a fibreglass-resin sheet skin on both sides and a foamed resin core to help protect against rot and degradation caused by time or exposure to the elements. Additionally, the water-resistant woofers have a water-repellent dust cap designed to endure prolonged direct contact with water.
ClimateGuard loudspeakers are available in four two-way, full-range configurations, along with a flyable subwoofer. The compact CG 108 combines a 75 x 75-degree horn with an 8-inch woofer, while the CG 208 incorporates two 8-inch woofers and a 1.4-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver mounted on a waveguide.
In addition, the CG 112 offers a 12-inch Black Widow woofer while the CG 115 is equipped with a 15-inch Black Widow woofer, both complemented by an RX 22 Neo 2-inch titanium diaphragm compression driver and a rotatable Quadratic-Throat Waveguide horn available in 60 x 40 and 105 x 60-degree coverage patterns. Finally, the CG 212S subwoofer houses two 12-inch weather-proof woofers.
The loudspeakers also include a proprietary ClimateGuard Pole Mounting System that offers customizable angle adjustments to support installations in various locations.
