Clear Vision mapped out for the IHG

Novatech were thrilled to once again work alongside the Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC) staff in the staging of the large Independent Hardware Group’s (IHG) conference in February. Supporting brands such as Mitre 10, Home Timber & Hardware and Thrifty Hardware, IHG provides support to over 1,200 stores nationwide and their national conference is their chance to bring teams together from all over Australia.

Whilst the ACC provided the backbone of the audio-visual required for the conference, Novatech were pleased to assist with the specialised area of vision supply in the way of LED screens, vision switching and pixel mapping projection services onto the interior of the new East Building. Emerging as a leader of LED screens in Adelaide, Novatech provided a massive 10m x 5m high resolution LED screen that complimented the stage space of the new Plenary building.

The LED screen was utilised during the conference as the main screen for presentations and as the focus of the stage set. For the Awards Dinner, the large LED screen was complimented by long LED screen drops that supplied imagery for looks that varied between awards. The show stopper was the custom mapped projection that covered the wall surfaces either side of the main stage. This allowed for large pictures to be displayed on the wall, but also mapped to the intricate triangle pattern that forms the design of the building.

A laser scan of the room was completed by Novatech that allowed projection to be mapped with millimetre accuracy. Content was then designed around these shapes to create various looks throughout the evening. Novatech’s disguise (formally d3) software platform provided the computing power for the projection mapping and playback along with Barco HD20 projectors that provided the projection itself.

Combined with stunning LED screens for backdrops, presentations and stage looks along with wall to ceiling pixel mapped projections, the result was a fitting platform to reward and award the various stores from around the country. Working alongside the AV team at the ACC again proved the most cost effective yet creative solution for the client.
