CASO Light N Sound, based in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, has taken delivery of four Claypaky Axcor Spot 300s to supplement their family run business.
CASO had some old 575W movers that were becoming cumbersome and troublesome and so the decision was made to go for a smaller, lighter and brighter fixture. With a price-point, physical size and power consumption that disguises its strength and creative potential, the Axcor Spot 300 was the perfect replacement.
“We’re mainly using the Axcor Spot 300s for conference and corporate work as well as weddings and expos,” commented William Winkel-Davis, Operations Manager at CASO Light N Sound. “They’re so much more suitable for the work we do and are very easy to transport. They’re lightweight and easy to rig.”
The Axcor Spot 300 is packed with features such as 17 gobos on 2 wheels (including 7 high quality dichroic rotating gobos) rotating prism, a motorised iris, a soft edge filter, a 16-bit dimmer, and an 8-40° zoom.
“The colours they produce are great, as is the selection of gobos,” added William. “Also, being LED they run cold which means you can have them on the ground close to performers, audience and the public. So far, it’s all positive!”
The Axcor Spot, Axcor Wash and Axcor Beam, equipped with max. 180W white LEDs, is arousing a great deal of interest among lighting professionals owing to their high performance at an affordable price. The quality of their effects, their practical built-in features, and their high light output stem from the high-end products Claypaky is specialized in.
