Casual Venue Technician, Bondi Pavilion

Waverley Council is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Casual Venue Technicians to support the delivery of high-quality technical production services across the diverse performance and event spaces of Bondi Pavilion.

What  you’ll be  doing?

  • Set-up, operate and pack down lighting, audio, AV and staging equipment for a variety of events, performances, exhibitions, and community activities.
  • Follow direction from the Technical Officer and interpret technical documentation and production schedules
  • Ensure equipment is used safely and appropriately in line with venue procedures
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during events as required
  • Support wide range of users including artists, hirers, and community groups.


What you’ll bring

  • Appropriate tertiary or other qualifications or equivalent experience in technical production, stage management or related fields
  • A positive and collaborate working style
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to facilitate complex situations to a positive outcome
  • Demonstrated organisational capability, able to manage numerous tasks simultaneously and plan for and meet deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to work outside standard business hours including weekends
  • Minimum intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft suite and databases
  • Class C driver license
  • Commitment to EEO, WHS, risk management, environmental protection and ethical principles
