Casual Theatre Technicians, Casula Powerhouse

Casula Powerhouse is an award-winning, multi-disciplinary arts centre, located within the City of Liverpool in Western Sydney. The centre boasts six galleries and two performance spaces including a 326 seat theatre and a flexible performance space which can seat up to 100 people. We are looking for an experienced theatre producer to program and present a vibrant and diverse performing arts season.
The Casual Technician will provide technical support work support for Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre working closely with the Technical Producer and Assistant Technical Producers to install and assist a diverse range of programs including dance, multi-media, film, special events and internal and external productions. Specifically, the Casual Theatre Technician is responsible for the provision of services and technical support to presenters and clients to meet production requirements that comply with relevant technical and arts venue requirements.  This includes setting up, striking and operating all equipment to support a range of large to small live performances and events.  This technical support is to be provided with properly developed and managed WH&S practices and risk management procedures.
This role is best suited to technicians with a minimum of one year practical technical experience in a performing arts venue or related industry field, who has a passion for customer service, an ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and extensive knowledge of theatre practices, terminology, etiquette and theatre craft and a high level understanding of policies, legislation and Australian Standards.
Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience and competencies of the successful applicant.
