Classification: THT 5 ($26.82 per hour + 25% Casual Loading)

About the role…

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused individual to join the Civic Venues Team at the Playford Civic Centre at Elizabeth in the role of Theatre Technician.

Reporting to the Transition Manager Civic Venues, you will be working on a Casual, ad-hoc basis and be responsible for providing excellent customer service in contributing to the best visual performance of theatre and function activities to all hirers of the City of Playford Shedley Theatre and Civic Centre. You will undertake and support the set-up and pack-down of functions and activities, and through the provision of sound and reliable technical support ensure that a safe working environment is maintained throughout the complex.

About You…

To be successful in the position, you will have considerable prior experience in the Live Theatre environment and have a strong knowledge and application of sound, lighting and fly equipment. You will also possess a minimum Theatre Technician Certificate III or higher, Elevated Work Platform Certification and a current Driver’s Licence. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Well-developed time management skills with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities
  • A commitment to improving the work practices and procedures within the Civic and Catering Team
  • The ability to work both cooperatively in a team environment and independently with minimum supervision, exercising initiative and judgement
