Award: Live Performance Award Production and Support L2 Factory Sound/Lighting Casual.
$31.76 per hour Mon-Sat and $57.17 per hour on a Sunday
Hours: start and finish times will vary pending on theatre requirements. No less than a 3 hour shift, max 8 hours before over time in single day.
The Royalty Theatre is a part of Adelaide’s history and has been serving the community for many years. It is a cosy venue which seats up to 600 people over 2 levels comfortably. The theatre is currently owned, operated, and managed by the Calisthenic Association of SA. The venue is a much sought-after theatre, hosting a wide variety of performances throughout the year in addition to Calisthenics events.
Role Purpose
The Casual Theatre Technician is the principal role for the day- to- day operation of the Royalty technical requirements duties include;
Technical equipment maintenance including lighting/sound/vision when required
Fire warden accredited
Operate Theatre Technical Equipment in Audio/Lighting/Vision/Rigging systems
Work with theatre staff during events in any position.
Assist in unlocking and locking up the building at the start and end of events
Start/end of hire sign off
Using basic computer skills on web based data base.
POSITION DELIVERABLES
1. Operation of Royalty Theatre Technical Aspects
- Point of contact for hirers, both Calisthenics and External in regards to technical requirements
- Report to the Senior Theatre Technician and Theatre & Events Manager on all aspects of the Royalty Theatre’s technical status
- Theatre and Events Manager for day-to day operation
- President and Treasurer for financial requests/discussions
- Timesheet required by fingerprint clock in and out device.
- Building long term relationships with external hirer’s through providing an outstanding customer experience
- Continue to look for new ways to innovate and improve for our hirers and volunteers
2. Event Technical Management including Calisthenics Events
- Work with the Theatre and Events Manager on all Calisthenics stage/lighting practices to ensure smooth processes
- Work with outside hirers on all technical requirements
- Assist the Senior Technician with tech equipment setups
- Provide support to the Senior Theatre Technician, Theatre and Events Manager and CASA Executive Committee in the running of all competitions, concerts and stage practices
3. Services and Support to Royalty Theatre
- Monitor and replace all domestic consumables – hand sanitiser, ablution consumables etc
- Report any damages/breakages and obvious maintenance requirements to The Theatre & Events Manager for rectification
- Report any instances where safety of patrons or employees could be compromised
- Report Stock levels of any used lamps to Senior Technician
4.WHS and Housekeeping
- Ensure all health and safety requirements are met for the use of the performances.
- Attend training as required and maintain awareness of health and safety regulations specific to the spaces and equipment used.
- Report all faults and safety issues to the Theatre and events manager
- Provide first-line maintenance support for all relevant technical equipment, machines, furniture, fixtures and fittings. Ensure all equipment is stored safely and is accessible to others when absent
- Maintain a list of equipment used by hirers
Additional Prerequisites
Current DHS Screening and Police Criminal History Check, Senior First Aid Certificate, Fire Warden Training must be kept current, Working at Heights Ticket
