About the Role 

Are you passionate about theatre and enjoy working behind the scenes to create memorable performances?  

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Casual Theatre Technician to join our team. Reporting directly to the Technical Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in providing support to theatre users and ensuring smooth operations during events.  

Your responsibilities will include advising on technical services, supervising technical operations, operating lighting and audio controls, maintaining equipment, and acting as a Warden during emergencies. This role offers a dynamic environment where you can showcase your expertise and contribute to the success of our cultural centre. 

About You 

We are looking for a candidate who possesses a Year 12 VCE or equivalent qualification and has demonstrated experience in theatre technical operations. It’s important that you have a solid understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices specific to theatre environments and can effectively communicate with both colleagues and clients.  

Flexibility is key, as this role requires working a range of hours, including evenings and weekends. We value teamwork and seek individuals who can collaborate effectively. While prior experience in similar roles is preferred, we are open to considering candidates who showcase a strong passion for the arts and a knack for technical excellence. First aid certification would be a valuable asset but is not mandatory.
