Casual Theatre Technician

Applications are sought for the position of Casual Theatre technician– Mornington Campus.

The role of the casual theatre technician is as follows:

  • Setting up and operating the audio / visual technical aspects of College and Campus events, including but not limited to Masses, Full College Assemblies, Twilight Concerts, Soirees and Galas;
  • Assisting students with audio VCAA exams;
  • Encouraging students to learn and operate systems where possible;
  • Consulting with external hirers;
  • Assisting with and operation of equipment for school musicals/productions;
  • Front of House duties for College and Campus events;
  • General theatre maintenance;
  • Stagehand assistance;
  • Floor audio;
  • Knowledge of Audio and Lx, strong audio recommended; and
  • Knowledge of SQ-6 and QU-32 Allen and Heath Audio desk is recommended

Some weekend work will be required on an irregular basis.

Key Selection Criteria & Requirements

  • Demonstrated willingness to support the ethos of Padua College; including an active commitment to the College Mission and Vision;
  • Familiarity with and compliance with Padua College’s Child-Safety and Wellbeing Policy and Code of Conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety;
  • Familiarity with and compliance with legislated Occupational Health and Safety practices and participate in consultative processes to ensure workplace safety for staff and students;
  • Maintaining currency of all relevant legislated and required College Occupational Health and Safety modules, and all First Aid and CPR Qualifications;
  • Undertaking regular professional learning to maintain a high level of awareness of current and best practice in the major areas of responsibility associated with the role.
