Casual position

Availability to work rostered shifts Monday-Sunday, between 7:00am and midnight

$42.00 – $43.83 per hour plus 9.5% superannuation (includes 25% casual loading + 25% special engagement)

Moonee Valley City Council’s Leisure department aims to support citizens to enhance their emotional and physical health, and to create social capital. The Leisure department has responsibility for planning for services, places and spaces that encourage participation within the areas of; Performing Arts and Culture, Visual Arts and Culture, Festivals and Events, Libraries and Learning, and Leisure Facilities.

The Opportunity

This position will see you working as part of the Technical team at the Clocktower Centre and council facilitated events. The Clocktower Centre is a flagship of arts and cultural activity and consists of a 500 seat theatre, function and meetings rooms, and a café.

You will be responsible for delivering frontline service with regards to technical support, in a mainly live performing arts context, within the City of Moonee Valley’s cultural facilities and outdoor events. Additional duties include:

Contributing to a positive professional culture within the Technical and wider Operations team of the Arts & Culture unit

Ensuring that venue equipment is set-up, used and packed down as per safe working policies and procedures

Operating technical equipment including audio, lighting, mechanical and audio visual equipment

About You

To be successful for this position, you will ideally possess the following:

  • Exposure to a live theatre venue in the areas of lighting, sound, stage and flying, and audio visual
  • Demonstrated experience with equipment maintenance
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Availability to work rostered shifts that can occur Monday – Sunday, between 7:00am and midnight
  • Current Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
