An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced technicians to provide effective technical services and supervision to clients, user groups and customers of the Boroondara Arts programs and events within the cultural facilities venues.
A little bit about the role
The Supervising technician is responsible for the supervision of technical operations, technical staff and hirers’ performance staff throughout our venues.
This position will:
- Supervise bump-ins and bump-outs for performances and events,
- Supervise staff, contractors, and volunteers associated with events and programming including the development of staff briefs,
- Contribute to the monitoring of venue functionality, furniture, and fittings to ensure safety and security, and carry out minor maintenance as assessed by the Senior Coordinator Civic and Cultural Facilities, and
- Be responsible for patron supervision and site safety.
A little bit about you
We are seeking suitable skilled and enthusiastic individuals with a strong focus on customer service to join our team.
You will hold a venue technical training certificate from an accredited organisation, or equivalent technical experience in a professional venue environment.
You will be an effective communicator, verbal and written, with who is both personable and approachable and able to easily engage with a diverse range of people.

- Preferred applicants will be required to undergo a National Police Record Check and hold a valid Working with Children Clearance.
- All City of Boroondara employees must be fully vaccinated. Appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to provision of evidence of vaccination status or medical exemption prior to commencement.
