Melbourne International Comedy Festival is seeking committed and enthusiastic people to fill a variety of Technical Stage Manager and Other Supportive roles within the Production Team to help deliver the Festival program across the Festival Managed Venues in 2022.

The primary responsibility of the Technical Stage Manager is to provide the technical expertise necessary to facilitate the shows in their assigned performance space. These performance spaces range from 50 – 500+ capacity venues. We are looking for people with the following skills and experience:
- Understanding and experience with lighting, sound and AV technical systems and operation
- A drive to better one’s craft, improve, learn and take direction
- Ability to work well as part of a strong and cohesive team
- Preferred experience working in a live performance, theatre, events, or festival environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with artists and producers
- Preferred experience managing a venue and working to keep schedules
- Ability to liaise confidently, positively, and calmly in a fast paced and high-pressure environment with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- An understanding of the changed performance environment during the COVID-19 pandemic and a flexibility to work within those fluctuating conditions
- A dedication to maintaining an environment where participants and audiences have confidence in our COVIDSafe systems and processes
- A diligence when approaching tasks accompanied by a good sense of humour

Bump In: Monday 21 – Monday 28 March 2022
Main Program: Tuesday 29 March – Sunday 24 April 2022
Schools Program: 0930-1700 Weekends + School Holidays
Monday Program: 1700-2300 Mondays from 4 April – 18 April 2022
Bump Out: Monday 25 – Friday 29 April 2022
All applicants must also be available and based in Melbourne for the duration of the Festival dates (28 March – 24 April 2022 inclusive). You must have proof of full working rights in Australia if you are an international applicant, so please attach any relevant visa documentation prior to submitting your application or your application may not be considered.
