Casual Lighting Programmer

Casual/Vacation
$39.05 – $44.16 per hour

The Technical Operations Department is comprised of a team of dedicated, enthusiastic, and reliable technicians who excel in providing exceptional technical skills. These professionals are committed to performing at the highest level of their abilities, ensuring consistent and high-quality results in all their endeavours. Their hard work and dedication form the backbone of our technical operations, allowing us to meet and exceed expectations in every project we undertake.

We are currently seeking to expand our team and are seeking skilled live production lighting programmers. These individuals will have the opportunity to work across our various venues, contributing their expertise to a range of productions.

Required:

  • Read and interpret lighting paperwork e.g. lighting plots, instrument schedules.
  • Rig and patch lighting fixtures and accessories.
  • Operate ETC lighting consoles (ideal) or other similar consoles with proficiency (e.g. MA, Hog, Onyx, Chamsys) and a willingness to learn ETC.
  • Ability to design and respond to client requests and feedback.
  • Present a professional and friendly experience to venue hirers.


Desired:

  • Basic networking skills and experience with sACN.
  • Experience in electronics fault finding, repair and maintenance.
  • Electrical test tag and plug top qualifications.
  • Holding a current and valid Forklift License.


About the role

The pay rate as a casual for working at NIDA on events within the Technical Operations Department under the Live Performance Award range from $39.05 for general crew calls, to $44.16 for Programmer/Operators and Supervisors. These rates include the 25% casual loading but exclude the 11.5% superannuation that is also paid.

We will conduct interviews either by phone, Teams or face to face, depending on your availability. Please be aware that as a casual employee work is not guaranteed. It is neither regular nor consistent.

Please note

A valid Working with Children Check for NSW is essential.  Having one or being willing to get one and to support and implement NIDA’s Child Safe Strategies is necessary to undertake this role.
