Jands Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s leading manufacturers and distributors of professional audio, lighting and staging products, is seeking a suitably experienced Casual Installation Technician to join our Sydney based Staging Department.
Contract work is also available for those tradespersons who hold current public liability insurance.
The Installation Technician will be responsible for:
* installing, testing, documenting and commissioning of hardware control systems and electrical machinery on site at various locations;
* performing design tasks, in consultation with the electrical engineers, for electrical control systems;
* working with the service and installation teams to diagnose system faults, repair or report as appropriate;
* working onsite at various locations throughout Australia, assembling equipment and installing products;
* undertaking maintenance/servicing (including after hours) works for NSW;
* carrying out In Service safety testing (test and tag) of electrical equipment; and,
* undertaking clerical duties and attend to routine correspondence and reports.
The successful applicant will possess:
* WHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card) (essential);
* Certificate IV Electrical Trade Certification (desirable);
* Drivers Licence (current) – Class C minimum;
* High Risk Work Licence – WP, DG, RG (desirable);
* a thorough knowledge of Safe Work Method Statements, their development and implementation;
* working knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems relevant to the theatrical and staging industry;
* sound interpersonal skills, along with excellent communication skills;
* high level of computer ability coupled with solid administrative skills;
* ability to work within a team environment.
Some work will be carried out outside of normal working hours. Applicants should note intrastate travel may be required on an intermittent basis.
