What you’ll do
Based at the Civic Centre you will provide audio, visual and production support to the Shedley Theatre and a range of vibrant function and event spaces.
As a Theatre Technician you will:
- Contribute to the best visual performance of theatre and function activities by providing technical support to all hirers of the Civic Centre
- Operate, maintain, and develop all sound, lighting, recording and vision equipment to hirers
- Undertake and support function centre set up and pack down
- Support the broader Civic Venues team with a range of function and event related tasks as required.
What you’ll bring to the role
Ideally, you will be someone who has experience in a similar role with understanding of sound, lighting, recording and visual support for events and functions.
Tertiary qualification in lighting, sound, or visual effects is highly desirable, however we welcome applicants with equivalent experience.
In addition, you will have:
- Strong knowledge and application of sound, lighting and flying equipment.
- The ability to work autonomously with minimum supervision as well as within a collaborative team.
- Elevated Work Platform Certification.
- Experience working in local government is an added bonus but not essential.
The successful applicant must either possess or be willing to obtain the Elevated Work Platform Certification, a Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
