The Sydney Masonic Centre (SMC) is located in the heart of the City of Sydney at 66 Goulburn Street. The SMC has a rich heritage and history amongst the City’s conference and meetings landscape. The Centre hosts in excess of 700 events a year and welcomes approximately 200,000 guests and delegates through the doors annually. The Centre offers a full range of services including sales and events management, in house catering and audio-visual services and more.
Recently reopened in 2019 after extensive renovations, we are looking for experienced and skilled Audio Visual Technicians to set and operate equipment for our client events. We are looking for all-rounders to go on our books for seasonal work – sometimes it’s pouring, other times it dries up! To be successful for this position you will need experience in events or theatre as an audio, lighting or conferencing/ vision technician. Qualifications in technical production will be viewed favourably, as will demonstratable industry experience. Your superior customer service is a must and will be highly valued.
What you need:
- To be 18 years of age or over
- Digital production experience in Vision, Audio and/or Lighting
- Flexible availability, weekdays and weekends
- Knowledge in corporate events and communicating with clients
- Experience in events, festivals, business events, theatre or exhibitions
- Ability to operate shows from small conferences to large gala events
- Ability to solve problems
- Understanding of WHS in the hospitality and AV workplace
- Demonstrate a professional and friendly manner
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Maintain company grooming standards
