Casual Audio Visual Technician

The role

Salary Rate: Casual HEW 6 ($53.96 per hour + 10% superannuation)

Employment Type: Casual 

Location: Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus and Geelong Waterfront Campus

The casual Audio Visual Technician will support the large and complex audio-visual infrastructure. The key focus will be the provision of responsive customer service in resolving faults, and the timely completion of service requests within agreed service levels. 

To be successful, you’ll have

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Electronics / Communications, a Bachelor of Computer Science (or similar, related degree) or equivalent qualification and/or experience 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain IT and audio visual technologies in a structured, enterprise environment, with experience monitoring and trouble-shooting complex audio visual platforms 
  • Demonstrated hands-on audio visual engineering experience with a sound understanding of audio visual protocols 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to produce clear and accurate communications that are appropriate for their intended audience 
  • Proven capability to work positively and effectively as part of a collaborative work team, to accommodate and work well with different working styles and to work independently where required  
  • Demonstrated ability to organise and plan, and to meet rigid and conflicting demands and deadlines, along with the ability to adapt to changed priorities 
  • ITIL V3 or V4 certification would be advantageous
  • CTS and AVIXA certification would be advantageous

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Responsible for the support and scheduled maintenance of audio visual services located across all campuses 
  • Provide high quality support to AVN customers in fault resolution and service request provisioning 
  • Implementation of procedures relating to audio visual and customer support 
  • Improvement of audio visual service quality and operational processes 
  • Respond to service request and fault calls resolving calls within agreed service levels 
  • Provision of advice to customers on all aspects of audio-visual services 
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of audio visual equipment and proactively addressing faults and implementing repairs when failures occur  
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the audio visual platforms 
  • Liaise with vendors and other eSolutions staff for problem resolution or escalation
  • Configure and install various audio visual devices and services 
  • Assist with the development of audio visual support procedures/work instructions  
  • Participate in performance management processes pursuing agreed objectives and reviewing performance at prescribed intervals
