The new Tessera S8 is a mid-range LED processor; perfect for projects that don’t require large output capacity but would still benefit from the flexibility of Brompton’s industry-leading Tessera feature set and easy-to-use software.
The Tessera S8 supports 4K screens and HDR content, making full use of Dynamic Calibration-exclusive features like PureTone and ThermaCal.
Enabled by Dynamic Calibration, one of the many benefits of having your panels calibrated with our Hydra measurement system is that thermal patterning on hot LED panels becomes a thing of the past.
Our ThermaCal feature can eliminate unsightly thermal patterning on hot LED panels. It gives the user real-time dynamic control of how much compensation is required based on the panel temperature and environment, even allowing you to adjust the correction during a show to account for changes in temperature over time.
It does this by both separating thermal effects from the optical calibration and by profiling each panel type to understand in detail its thermal characteristics for a smooth, panel-specific correction.
PureTone eliminates unsightly colour casts in your greyscale for balanced, neutral output. It is exclusive to Brompton R2-based panels that have been calibrated with Dynamic Calibration and profiled with Hydra.
It is common for many panel types to show a colour cast in darker greys or when using the panels at low brightness levels. This is a real problem that means you may not get accurate colours and true neutral greys, and can be the reason why panels may suddenly appear unmatched when displaying darker content.
PureTone takes a panel’s individual profile and can compensate for any non-linearities, ensuring true, clean, accurate colours and neutral greys at all brightnesses.
Ultra-Low Latency
Ultra-Low Latency provides a latency minimising solution for the broadcast, television and film industries, making it easier to synchronise live-action and tracked camera moves with visual effects and virtual sets.
Ultra-Low Latency reduces end-to-end latency to just 1 frame, at reduced system capacity, and is exclusive to the Tessera SX40 and Tessera S8 LED processors.
Rather than simply another increase in resolution, High Dynamic Range (HDR) video brings a trio of image quality improvements that are particularly well-placed to be the next big thing for LED screens.
