Brisbane Sound Group (BSG) approached DQ with a clear requirement: they needed a lightweight road case to transport and protect a commercial drone during flights and remote field operations. The challenge was to deliver a lighter solution, while still offering the strength and protection expected from a road case.
Purpose-Built for Travel and Remote Deployment
The custom case was designed and manufactured through the Samuelson Welded Aluminium line and needed to support air freight and frequent handling. The final dimensions were: 966mm (L) x 797mm (D) x 230mm (H). With a refitted foam insert supplied by BSG, the complete case weighed only 21.5kg, making it approximately 20% lighter than an equivalent plywood road case.

The case construction included:
- Aluminium exterior for reduced weight and long-term durability
- Penn Elcom hardware and extrusions for secure transport handling
- Customer supplied the pre-existing foam which was fitted to house and protect the drone
This combination delivered a protective and versatile transport solution that meets both flight weight restrictions and rugged operational demands. Now anyone can deploy the drone quickly and securely in remote and on-site locations.
