About the Opportunity
Located in the heart of Port Macquarie, the Glasshouse is home to a theatre, regional gallery, performance studio, Visitor Information Centre, gift shop, conference and meeting facilities and heritage displays.
As a member of the Glasshouse Back of House Team, you will be providing a range of high-level technical services (lighting, audio, AV and staging) to ensure the seamless presentation of theatre shows, conferences and events. You will be working across all areas of the venue, theatre, gallery and conference spaces depending on the needs of the business.
To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate proven experience in the relevant technical areas, ideally in an entertainment or conference venue; a willingness to learn new skills in production and technical areas; excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
On a typical day our Back of House Technician will:
- Bumping in and out theatre shows
- Setting furniture for meetings and events
- Pre-rigging the theatre in preparation for performances
- Assisting the gallery team with exhibition installations
- Supporting the senior technicians in operating lighting, audio and AV equipment
- Performing general venue maintenance duties

Remuneration
This is a casual role with an hourly rate of $30.68, plus 9.5% superannuation. The role is event-based and will vary from week to week, and will include evening and weekend work.
