New Zealand’s Strawberry Sound is a family-owned and operated business that offers a comprehensive audio-visual rental and production service, for events across the South Island.
Last year, Strawberry Sound invested in eight Ayrton Diablos and they have been so impressed with the fixture, there are plans to purchase more.
The Diablo is Ayrton’s versatile, feature-rich 300 W profile luminaire that is the smallest, lightest and most efficient luminaire of its category. It has a record output of 19,000 lumens, a total weight of 21.8 kg plus a framing system.
“We were looking for a workhorse fixture that will see us through the next few years and the Diablo ticked all the boxes,” commented Alex Jones of Strawberry Sound. “They can easily switch from corporate to rock’n’roll as they are so versatile – especially as they have a framing system. We’re not a rider-driven company but we have hired the Diablos to a few production companies for festivals over the summer where they’re usually used as the main Profile over the stage.”
Alex has been rapt by many of Diablo’s features in particular its zoom range of 7° to 53° that offers even more flexibility what is probably the most flexible light on the market!
“The Diablo is super bight, has great speed, is quiet, is small, has great gobos and the colour saturation is outstanding,” he added. “The power consumption was a real bonus as well as being a small production house. It quite simply is the best all-rounder you can buy.”
Pictured is the ILT Christmas Variety Show that was held at Invercargill’s ILT Stadium Southland last December. The eight Diablos were hung from the back truss to work as a Profile supplying effects and breakups. Also in the rig were Martin MAC101 and Claypaky Sharpys.
