Avid has announced announcing the release of VENUE 8.0, the latest evolution of software for VENUE | S6L live mix systems, offering several enhancements for live sound and recording, including support for the latest addition to the VENUE | S6L unified platform, the VENUE | E6LX-256 engine.
The new developments are being showcased at the 2025 NAMM Show at the Anaheim Convention Center, booth 15102.
“By expanding our platform’s capabilities, we are empowering engineers to push the boundaries of what’s possible in live audio,” says Rich Nevens, Sr. director product management, audio hardware at Avid. “VENUE 8.0 and the VENUE | E6LX-256 engine represent advancements that better meet the demands of today’s most complex productions, ensuring that every performance can sound its best.”
VENUE 8.0 Overview:
— Expanded Virtual Sound Check: Now covering all inputs to support new engine capabilities, enabled via MADI or AVB-HD, with a new mode for MLN-192.
— Enhanced Events System: Addition of highly requested event triggers and expanded actions per trigger.
— Allows engineers to more quickly implement their creative ideas with additional event triggers and actions.
— Monitor Mixing Improvements: Set any output as Mix to Monitors default, with added VCA meters for clearer signal level control. Provides better feedback and reduces margin for error.
— Automix Feature: Automatically balance levels of multiple sound sources, reducing noise floor and maintaining focus. Automix balances levels from multiple sound sources, which is particularly well suited for corporate audio environments.
The VENUE | E6LX-256 engine offers increased input channels and output buses, enhanced physical design for stability and road-ready durability, and expanded configurations for more complex busing and subgroup requirements. It supports large-scale productions with complex setups, providing show design, monitoring, cueing, and mixing capabilities.
