AV Technician / Project Coordinator

Located in Wollongong (NSW), CMG offers a unique blend of top-tier AV equipment, depth of expertise and advanced event design technology to create unique and amazing experiences.

Working within our skilled team, the successful applicant will assist with the delivery of engaging audiovisual, sound and lighting services that achieve and exceed the objectives of our diverse range of clients.

There will be an exciting mix of corporate events, hybrid/live streaming and large-scale live shows that will enable you to showcase your creative and technical talents, grow your industry knowledge and achieve your goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Build and maintain strong positive relationships with all clients;
• Project manage all in scope event requirements, including technical and creative delivery;
• Manage the event planning process from initial booking through to the successful delivery of the event;
• Deliver, set up and ensure all equipment is safe and operational;
• Operate, maintain and provide technical support services for AV, sound and lighting equipment;
• Have an appreciation for sales, safety and operational processes;
• Record, monitor and update event information and requirements in the central booking system;
• Maintain client contact records with regular and accurate database updates;
• Ensure a tidy and professional personal presentation at all times;
• Make sure that all equipment received, dispatched and delivered is recorded and stored appropriately.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALITIES
• Demonstrated experience with event lighting, vision and audio technology;
• Direct experience operating events and functions (including project management);
• Proven troubleshooting and technical support expertise;
• Advanced communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
• Exceptional levels of professionalism including personal presentation;
• A focus and enthusiasm for developing lasting relationships with clients;
• Strong attention to detail with well-developed time management and organisational skills;
• Highly collaborative team player that aims for positive outcomes;
• Methodical in approach to defined processes, operations and records management;
• Very high level of computer literacy;
• Ability to prioritise and handle a varied workload, both time-effectively and to a consistently high standard;
• Ability and preparedness to move, lift and set-up/pack-down AV equipment;
• Flexibility to work after hours, on weekends or travel as required due to the diverse nature of the live event industry;
• Previous experience with AV installation and system integration projects would be advantageous (but is not essential);
• A current NSW Driver’s License.
