AV technician and Sound Audio Engineers

AV Production Company that specializes in audio, lighting and visual systems is searching for a Lead Audio Technician to manage and support live events and the production department. Our full scope of services includes comprehensive AV production solutions for live entertainment, corporate, social, staging, technology solutions and show management. This position is based in Sydney.

General work hours are required as well as some nights and weekends are required, and candidates should expect a variable schedule based on show site needs. Some travel may be required.

An outgoing personality, industry experience and knowledge of event logistics is preferred.

This position will have a diverse range of production jobs with some long hours in short days but with financial reward. There is a full-time position available but we are also looking for casual staff. If you’re motivated and have the experience then please contact us.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Requirements: Ideal candidate will possess knowledge of audio, lighting and visual solutions within the event production industry. Ability to work with all aspects of audio systems is required, with a proven track record of successful shows and events in the corporate and entertainment world. While this position is a part of the audio department, our ideal candidate will be expected to have experience with crew management and job site leadership skills. Candidate must also be able to successfully interact with clients on-site, and maintain a professional demeanour at all times. Candidate must have a portfolio of previous events, with at least 4 years of professional experience in live musical events as well as experience in the corporate AV and events world, and have 3 positive references. Proper and safe setup, operation, and pack down of audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment are required, along with loading and unloading of company vehicles when needed.

This is not an entry level position, and those without the required experience will not be considered.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Setup and pack down of professional audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment, with a focus on audio systems. This can include flying or stacking speaker arrays and setting up and aligning multi-way sound systems for all types of events. The right candidate must have the following technical skills:

– Ability to set up large scale sound systems (turnkey)

– Operate a wide variety of high-end digital mixing desks

– Familiarity with flying and stacking speaker systems

– Operation of Audio DSP/Processing systems such as Lake

– Programing architectural software/processing, knowledge of digital and analog signal routing

– Knowledge of all other facets of the AV industry.

– Extensive experience in similar role

– Project Manage and direct crew

– Operation of all aspects of audio systems in a live environment

– Provide high-quality mixes for all types of events.

– Work with shop staff when needed to prep and pack gear for live events.

– Lifting and physical work are required at times

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Knowledge of inventory management software preferred

•Knowledge of Digital processing and equipment

•4 years of relevant work experience

•Valid driver’s license
