Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land – the Gadigal people of the Eora nation.
The Gallery attracts around 1 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.
With our expanded campus recent opening the Gallery has a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the exhibition space, the expanded Gallery enables us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

About the role
Provide audio visual production services and delivery for events, multimedia production projects, and programs at the Gallery. We are looking for applicants with any of the following skills:

What technical / soft skills you require
- Demonstrated experience in audio-visual, lighting, and technical event delivery and an understanding of a broad range of technical event production systems, including operation of AV, lighting, and production equipment. Knowledge of video production techniques and post-processing workflow. (see further info in the advert below)
- Effective communication skills to a broad range of internal and external audiences. Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a range of stakeholders.
- Advanced computer skills across Windows and OSX platforms. Knowledge of AV control software, signal flow, and media delivery systems, as well as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
We are looking for multiple applicants with some or all of the following skills so please be specific in addressing the technical skills question above.
– Lighting programming and operation, MA preferred
– Front of house / mic tech audio experience
– Studio sound/mixing/mastering experience
– Livestreaming experience
– Camera operation, video editing, basic multimedia content production
– Equipment maintenance and fault-finding
– AV display systems (projectors, screens, LED walls)
– Experience with AVoIP/networked systems and designing/implementing signal flow

1. Can you give us an example of a situation where you had to collaborate with other team members to resolve a complex audio or video issue. (300 words max)
2. Describe a recent audio visual project you were involved in that did not go to plan. Explain the challenges, how you overcame them and what you learned from the experience. (300 words max)
