Audio Visual Technician

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Audio Visual Technician at Knox Grammar School is responsible for providing high-quality audio visual (AV) technical support services to the school’s faculty, staff, and students. This role ensures that AV systems are functioning efficiently and effectively, providing a seamless experience for the school community.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

To be successful in this role at this level you must have:

Essential: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or minimum of 3 years’ experience in AV system engineering and support
  • Knowledge of Crestron and Q-SYS control systems, AV over IP solutions (both video and audio), Biamp Tesira and Q-SYS DSP platforms, and wireless microphone systems
  • Knowledge of AV monitoring platforms, ideally including Crestron XiO and Q-SYS Reflect
  • Familiarity with live streaming technologies, content management systems and digital signage platforms, such as Zoom, Teams, BlackMagic, OBS, Xibo
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive and exhibits a can-do attitude

Desirable: 

  • Experience working in a school or education environment
  • Certifications in relevant AV technologies and systems
  • Knowledge of IT networking principles and protocols
  • Experience with video production and editing tools
  • Experience with event management and production
