The Role
We are looking for an Audio Visual Technician to assist the Arts team and Technical Production Coordinator in providing technical expertise to support Archdiocesan initiatives.
Whilst the Audio Visual Technician provides expertise and production support in lighting control systems, audio and video recording and post-production, live streaming, and technical production plans for performances and events, their main expertise lies in sound engineering, where they must expertly mix music provided for live and recorded events.
The successful candidate for this position will be a highly effective technician responsible for:
- providing technical expertise for Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) Performing Arts programs
- overseeing the functionality, safety and efficiency of audio/video equipment used in the different performance spaces to support all SCS Performing Arts programs and SCS Events
- managing the technical requirements of video production, editing and recording as required, including post-production and final delivery across various formats (digital and broadcast), e.g. live-stream events, virtual performances and audio recordings
- working with external hires during bump/in-out, rehearsals, technical rehearsal whilst also providing technical requirements for the live production or recordings
- providing technical industry knowledge for VET Creative Industry courses and NESA Performing Arts courses
- mentoring students composing and producing original music from pre to post-production
- developing workshops in vision and sound for internal/external professional development and to provide support to Archdiocesan schools.
The Person
The successful candidate will have attained the following;
- a relevant Tertiary qualification or Certificate III in Live Production and Services
- demonstrated a minimum of five years of industry experience in live theatre production and management
- demonstrated a minimum of five years of industry experience in video and live stream production
- sound engineering experience where you have expertly mixed music provided for live and recorded events
- a current driver’s licence
- a current Test and Tag licence
- a NSW Government Safe Work NSW White Card.
