Audio Visual Technical Director

Audio Visual Events is a family-owned company, highly regarded in the Audio Visual industry for over 20 years. 

We are seeking a Technical Director to join our established team of professionals servicing the AV and corporate events markets in Sydney and across Australia.

With Sydney’s widest range of high-end audio-visual equipment and a broad range of clients, no two days are the same.  You will work with cutting edge technology from the best brands and our dedicated and skilled team of technicians to provide great outcomes for our clients.

We are looking for technicians with skills in audio, vision, and lighting.

Key Roles and responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the wider AVE team to design profitable technical event solutions for existing and new clients
  • Assist in the preparation of event solutions and resources
  • Prepare Vectorworks/CAD drawings or other show related documentation for events
  • Ensure pre-production requirements and specific event logistics are delivered in a timely and profitable manner
  • Mentor technicians and assist management in identify training opportunities for technicians
  • Work with the team to identify, develop and deliver innovative technical solutions

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Technician, Production Manager or in a similar TD role
  • Exemplary technical capability across various AV disciplines and rigging and lighting systems and their use within the live production environment.
  • Proven knowledge of events, with an ability to deliver profitable outcomes
  • Extensive knowledge of local venues
  • High level communication skills
  • Ability to direct a team of Technical Crew on the execution of events
  • Demonstrated competency in rental software, Vectorworks/CAD
  • Ability to work with a minimum of guidance and direction
  • Attention to detail across all areas of the TD role

We have a long term commitment to out newly refurbished premises within walking distance of St Leonards train station. Onsite parking is available should you prefer to drive to work. 

Attractive remuneration is available for the right candidate and will be negotiated based on experience.
