Established in 1871, the Art Gallery of New South Wales is located in Sydney’s The Domain adjacent to the Royal Botanic Garden and near the Central Business District, the Gallery acknowledges the original custodians of this land – the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. The Gallery attracts around 1.4 million visitors annually and runs Australia’s largest education program with over 90,000 student and teacher visits per year.
With the construction of our expansion project currently underway and scheduled for completion in 2022, the Gallery is poised to deliver a new state-of-the-art building located next to our existing and much-loved building. Providing us with close to double the current exhibition space, the expanded Gallery will enable us to share more art with more people and provide more family, learning and educational programming for all our audiences.

About the role
We are seeking multiple well organised and self-motivated audiovisual technology professionals for ongoing, temporary and casual positions. We encourage candidates with a broad range of audiovisual technical and production experience, or specialists to apply. We are looking for applicants who have skills and experience in ONE OR MORE of the below:
· Time-based art and audiovisual display installation.
· Sound engineering and sound system design, set-up, configuration, and operation.
· Digital projection design, installation, and configuration.
· Lighting design, programming, and operation.
· Live vision mixing and operation.
· Livestreaming broadcast, videography, camera operation, video editing and video conferencing.
· Design, monitoring and maintenance of TCP/IP and audio-visual media transport networks.
· Event technical direction, show calling, production, and stage management.
· Audio visual technical operations support, including project and asset management.
At the Gallery you will work within the Audio Visual Services team, supporting a diverse range of gallery activities across exhibitions and events as well as online digital programs. On occasion your roster will require work outside standard hours including evenings and weekends according to operational requirements.

What technical / soft skills you require
· Relevant qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or equivalent competence gained through combination of on-the-job training, and experience.
· Experience and knowledge in a broad range of audiovisual and multimedia installation and operation which may include – but not limited to: audiovisual hardware configuration and installation, rigging, cabling and fit off, sound and video signal flow, digital projection and alignment, sound systems, event lighting, electronics and wiring, control systems, media content capture and delivery systems, automation, data and networking.
· Relevant experience in an art gallery or museum or multi venue multi artform cultural institution environment.
· Strong communication and documentation skills and a record of successful delivery of customer service focused audiovisual related projects and experience working in a multi-discipline technical team with a commitment to sharing knowledge and multi-skilling.
· Advanced computer skills across OSX and Windows platforms. Experience in business enabling systems such as event/project and asset management systems as well as well as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Targeted questions
1. Describe a project (either a show or an exhibition, or both) you worked on and what the specific skills you utilised within the team you were working with were. Explain the challenges, how you overcame them and what you and your team learnt from the experience. (400 words)
2. Provide an example of how you were able to use your technical and organisational skills to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities and deadlines, identifying AV technical production and multi-project coordination skills to successfully meet the expectations of internal and external stakeholders. (400 words)
