The $176 million refurbishment and expansion has put Cairns on the top of event organisers’ list of desirable destinations. Managed by ASM Global, the Cairns Convention Centre is everything you would expect from an international standard venue located in nature’s pristine playground.

Audio Visual & Operations Coordinator
(Full Time)
The Audio Visual & Operations Coordinator role is to provide a link between the department leaders and operational staff to deliver the operational and technical requirements of clients of the Cairns Convention Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the set up and pack down of all client space including technical and production requirements.
- Supervision of casual event staff during set ups, breakdown and during events.
- Provide technical support during events.
- Oversee the receipt, delivery and dispatch of client goods.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Operating knowledge of current audio visual equipment and use of computer software.
- Minimum 6 months experience in event operations in a convention centre, large hotel or public facility.
- Excellent communication and planning skills.
- Flexibility with working hours.
- Physically fit.
- The below qualifications are required or must be willing and able to be attained:
- First Aid Certificate.
- Forklift Licence.
- Working at Heights
- Boom Lift Working Platform exceeding 11 metres Licence.
- Mobile Elevation Work Platform licence.
- Riggers & Doggers Licence.
The Cairns Convention Centre is a Queensland Government owned building and follows Queensland Health guidelines. All staff working at the Centre must be fully vaccinated. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of vaccination.
