Audio Visual Installer


AJ Sound is a well-established South Australian family-owned Audio Visual Production Company, that provide Audio Visual rental and permanent installation solutions to the Education, Church, Local Government & Commercial sector.

Due to rapid growth in the permanent installation division, we are seeking two casual employees who are experienced installers to work starting immediately on a casual basis initially for the first 6 months, with an opportunity to become a permanent full-time employee thereafter.  You will be rostered over a 5-day rotational roster between 3 ā€“ 5 days per week.

You will be required to do the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Follow & Adhere to all AJ Sound Policies & Procedures
  • Maintain AJ Sounds high level of quality customer service
  • Update, maintain and report on all assigned tasks, including hours and job progress
  • Work within all legislative safety requirements including safe work method statements

Duties:

  • Install, move and modify audio visual equipment and other related equipment according to job specifications, standards and procedures
  • Connecting systems, i.e., patching in equipment racks
  • Cable pulling & terminations, including soldering
  • Properly mount (secure, level, centre) various equipment including LCDā€™s, projectors, speakers and other audio visual equipment
  • Read and interpret schematic diagrams and drawings
  • Provide feedback to project sales team when required
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions
  • Following standardised test procedures
  • Systems functionality testing
  • Maintain and repair equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and specifications
  • Maintain and report accurate records of hours and materials used

Experience

  • Working on AV projects / soldering & terminating cables
  • Working with equipment wiring diagrams and schematics, venue plans and layouts
  • Working at heights with tools in a high-risk environment such as construction sites.

Licences & Qualifications

  • Construction Safety White Card
  • Valid SA Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Certification
  • Police Clearance
  • Hold Full COVID Vaccination Certificate
  • EWP Yellow Card
  • High Risk Licence ā€“ Boom Lift (ideals but not essential)

Your working day will commence anywhere between 7.00am and will finish as late as 6.00pm on occasions from Monday through to Friday.  However, most work will operate between 8.00am ā€“ 4.00pm daily.  All of our casual installers can expect to work between 30-40 hours across a 5 day week Occasionally you will work 3 days or less depending on working commitments etc.
