The $176 million refurbishment and expansion has put Cairns on the top of event organisers’ list of desirable destinations. Audio Visual Coordinator
(Full Time)
The Audio Visual Coordinator role is to deliver the technical, IT and audio visual requirements of clients of the Cairns Convention Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support and recommendations to clients during the event planning and execution stages.
- Develop floor plans for events as per client and department requirements.
- Management of technical and operational equipment.
- Supervision of permanent and casual event audio visual and operations staff
- Provide technical support during events.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Minimum 12 months experience in a similar position in a convention centre, large hotel or public facility.
- Knowledge of conference/event set ups and etiquette.
- Knowledge of the operation of basic audio visual equipment.
- Knowledge of ITC capabilities and capacities.
- Knowledge of set up and operation of public events.
- Knowledge and understanding of quotations procedures.
- Excellent communication and planning skills.
- Flexibility with working hours.
- The below qualifications are required or must be willing and able to be attained:
- First Aid Certificate.
- Forklift Licence.
- Working at Heights
- Boom Lift Working Platform exceeding 11 metres Licence.
- Mobile Elevation Work Platform licence.
- Riggers & Doggers Licence.
The Cairns Convention Centre is a Queensland Government owned building and follows Queensland Health guidelines. All staff working at the Centre must be fully vaccinated. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of vaccination.
