Audio Visual (AV) / Lighting Technician (x2)

Casual/Vacation$50 – $55 per hour + applicable penalty rates

Pembroke is seeking an enthusiastic and suitably experienced applicant to undertake the role of Audio Visual (AV) / Lighting Technician to provide high-quality technical support for School events and functions.

The School:

The Role:

Pembroke is seeking suitably experienced and enthusiastic applicants to undertake the role of Audio Visual (AV) / Lighting Technician. As the successful applicant, you will bring a collaborative, proactive and enthusiastic approach to working with Pembroke staff and students to deliver flawless events and functions.

The AV / Lighting Technician will provide technical support for School events and functions and will be responsible for the set-up, operation and pack-down of audio visual and lighting equipment used to enhance live events.

The AV / Lighting Technician will: 

  • Maintain effective communication with all members of staff, particularly those within the ICT, Events and the Arts as well as external contractors and suppliers
  • Meet with Events Manager and relevant stakeholders and actively participate in event planning
  • Prepare and transport audio, video and lighting equipment 
  • Work as part of a team to safely set-up, operate and pack-down AV and lighting equipment used for school events and functions
  • Conduct sound, visual and performance quality checks on AV and lighting equipment prior to events
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues before, during and after events to ensure flawless delivery of events for colleagues and guests
  • Assist with the live streaming and recording of school events and meetings
  • Assist with the cleaning, repair and maintenance of audio visual and lighting equipment.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in Audio, Video and/or Lighting operational support role
  • In-depth knowledge of AV and lighting equipment and techniques
  • Proven understanding of the AV needs and requirements of a range of events and stage presentations 
  • Basic understanding of IP networking concepts
  • Demonstrated technical understanding and knowledge of and application of WHS principals
  • Well-developed problem solving and organisational skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and work with a range of stakeholders
  • Physical fitness to transport and set up heavy equipment
  • Recent experience with event recording and common streaming equipment/platforms is desirable.
