Hale School is Western Australia’s oldest independent boys’ school. Located in the suburb of Wembley Downs, the current campus is situated on a magnificent 48 hectare site, approximately 13 kilometres to the north-west of Perth and two kilometres from the coast.
Hale School is seeking to appoint a full-time Audio Visual and Production Technician to provide technical services to support a wide range of events and productions at Hale School. The School has an extensive program of productions and performances in music and drama as well as in a wide range of other activities, exhibitions, assemblies and school community events. Hale School campus has a range of purpose-built performance venues, which require competence and experience in lighting and sound systems, control systems and relevant equipment and its maintenance. The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic, collaborative and resourceful. Flexibility in working hours will be required to cover evening and weekend work as required.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following:
- An understanding of the production process and theatre production techniques.
- Up-to-date knowledge of audio visual, sound and lighting equipment and its maintenance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent working knowledge of IT including projector set-up, power-point presentations and specific theatre industry operating and design
- Capable and confident in moving/heavy lifting of theatre equipment, in a safe way.
- Be highly organised, able to multitask and problem solve.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others.
- Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Maintains the ethos of Hale School by acting in a manner that supports the School’s values, Statement of Purpose, ethos and Anglican framework.
- Be aware of and understand the obligations of working in accordance with the School’s Child Safety, Mandatory Reporting, Child Protection, Staff Conduct and Discipline and Critical Incident Management.
- Comply with Occupational Safety and Health requirements in the workplace.
- Working with Children Clearance.
- National Police Clearance Certificate.
