Audio Technical Leader

About the role!

  • Effectively lead, train, mentor and coach other AV Technicians/Contractors.
  • Provide industry leading live Audio operating skills.
  • Provide advice and recommendations within the AV leadership team on activities relevant to audio.
  • Provide advice and assistance to all team members on activities relevant to audio.
  • Effectively liaise with client’s and manage their expectations, requests and concerns relevant to audio.
  • Actively participate in bumping in, operating and bumping out of events and generally where required to meet deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of all production disciplines.
  • Effectively delegate complex production plans.
  • Assist with maintaining and maximising the utilisation of the Centre’s AV inventory.
  • Assist the AV Technical Manager to develop recommendations for immediate and long-term equipment upgrades.
  • Attend to all administrative and reporting requirements relevant to planning and delivering live events.
  • Develop good working relationships with team members, suppliers and clients.
  • Proactively and productively contribute to the day-to-day operations of the AV department.
  • Stay up to date and in tune with market activities, trends and new AV products.

About you!   

  • Highly experienced skilled technician with a minimum of 4 years industry experience required.
  • The ability to handle and complete multiple tasks, prioritise and delegate, while maintaining a calm and efficient demeanour.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal skills and the ability to work well unsupervised.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly reliable with the ability to drive all tasks to a successful completion.
  • Experience using Dante Controller (Dante Level 2 Cert), L’Acoustics Soundvision, L’Acoustics Network Manager SMAART, QLab and Shure Wireless Workbench would be highly regarded. 
  • Nexo NS1, Vectorworks and Q-Sys Designer – Q-Sys Level 1 Cert (desirable, however not essential).
