Riverside Theatres is the leading theatre in Greater Western Sydney. The staff at Riverside Theatres are passionate about bringing the very best the performing arts can offer to audiences. An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic individuals to join our positive and dedicated Technical Team in the roles of Audio & Lighting Technician / Operators (Casual positions).
About the role
Both roles will be working closely with the Technical Coordinators and the Duty Technicians in the delivery of performances and events within the venue. The successful candidates will have proven experience operating in a theatre environment in the discipline of Audio or Lighting.
We have three casual vacancies: 2 x Lighting and 1 x Audio Technician / Operators
The key responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of high-level customer service to hirers, production companies, artists, stakeholders and suppliers.
- Reporting to the Technical Coordinators any equipment that is found to be faulty in accordance with the appropriate technical standards and/or other statutory requirements.
- Adhering to the best practice WHS management and operating procedures in all aspects of operation within the venues and contribute to the revision of these procedures at the regular reviews.
- Work cohesively with the Duty Technician and other Technicians in all theatre disciplines to achieve the specifications required by the client.
About You
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
For the Audio Technicians / Operators role:
- Proven experience in venues, arts or creative industries in live audio. Ideally in setup, patch and operating audio equipment from plans and specifications to execution.
- Advanced level skill in the operation of digital audio consoles.
- Advanced skill in the ability to read and interpret a sound plan.
- Advanced skill in the ability to setup, patch and tune audio equipment and act as a Head of Audio leading a team.
For the Lighting Technicians / Operator role:
- Proven experience operating theatre lighting equipment from plans and specifications to execution.
- Advanced level skill in the operation of the ETC EOS Family Consoles.
- Advanced skill in the ability to read, interpret and rig a lighting plan.
- Advanced skill in the ability to patch, focus and act as a Head Electrician leading a team.
In addition, candidates will bring:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- An attention to detail when working in a team environment.
- A working knowledge of other theatre disciplines such as Mechanist, Lighting or Vision.
Qualifications
- Tertiary and/or other technical qualifications relevant to live theatre / events or experience in a multi-venue live theatre environment (Essential)
- Working with Children’s check clearance number (Essential)
- NSW Construction White Card Certification (Essential)
- First Aid & CPR Certification (Desirable)
- Yellow card. (Desirable)
- Dogging and Rigging HRW License (Desirable)
- Test and Tag Certification (Desirable)
- Plug Top Replacement Certification (Desirable)
- Working at Heights Certification (Desirable)
- Dogging & Rigging HRW License.
What’s on offer:
We are offering an hourly rate from $36.98 per hour (including 25% casual loading) + penalties + 10.5% super.
