VIRO5 is Audac’s latest two-way coaxial loudspeaker which comes in both 8? and 16? variants and with optional toroidal transformer modules. Available in black and white, the VIRO5 combines a soft, silk-domed tweeter for smooth tonality with a 5-inch two-way coaxial speaker driver and delivers “uncompromised clarity and surprisingly low-frequency response”.
Using the optional 70V/100V line transformer enables the VIRO series to be used not only in low-impedance installations but also in 70V or 100V systems. By removing the back plate, the transformer can be easily inserted. The full aluminium construction and stainless fasteners have passed a 720-hour salt spray test to make sure the speaker stands up in the toughest environments. In order to further comply with the IP55 certification, Audac has made sure the front grille is water repellent and that the speaker comes equipped with rubber cable grommets for fixed installation along with optional speakON connectors. The multifunctional mounting bracket mean that the VIRO5 can be mounted on any wall or ceiling. In addition, there are several optional mounting adapters for poles, stands and ground pins to achieve maximum flexibility.
With three different models to serve a wide range of applications and power ratings that vary between 240W and 600W, the SCP Series can be used in stereo low impedance or 70V/100V bridge mode. The half 19-inch rack space allows for single installation in a 10.5-inch rack or side-by-side (two devices) in a 19-inch rack. Desktop installation or mounting in a rack using the MBS310 series mounting adaptors is also possible.
The devices have been designed so that passive convection cooling is established in order to improve thermal comfort without the need for additional actions. Connection to the new WP2XX series input wall panels or volume controllers can be made via the RJ45 connector on the back of the SCP. This is said to allow for a cost-effective plug-and-play solution to extend or introduce new input possibilities and control options.
Equipped with a Standby mode switch, the SCP Series will enter an energy-saving standby mode after a period of inactivity. This feature, together with the overall energy efficient design, reportedly makes the SCP meet the high standards of the Energy star certification. When combining the SCP Series with a suitable pre-amplifier or wall-mounted input panel, users can create a powerful and complete solution for background music installations.
