Art Venues Technician, Victoria

We are seeking a number of casual Arts Venue Technicians to work across Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre and Northcote Town Hall.
The successful applicants will work across a range of bookings and events, from school concerts and dance recitals to professional presentations and will be responsible for the operation of technical equipment and theatrical effects at both venues.
The successful applicant will possess:
•    Ability to work productively with amateur organisations and amateur production and technical personnel in such a manner as to encourage enthusiasm and develop skills.
•    Ability to work to a high level of efficiency in busy periods leading up to the commencement of shows and effecting fast and efficient bump outs.
•    Experience in the operation of a range of lighting equipment and skill in the placing of sets to achieve the effect desired by artistic personnel of hiring organisations.
•    Experience in the operation of a range of audio equipment and the application of theoretic practices in the mixing of sound from stage.
•    Experience in the safe operation and supervision of a single purchase, counter weighted flying system, including rigging of sets and other required equipment to this system.
•    Demonstrated commitment to working unusual hours outside the usual business hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm, including weekends and public holidays
