This is a great opportunity to join the Jands team based in Queensland as an Applications Engineer. The Applications Engineer shall provide high level applications support services including pre-sales design, pre and post-sales technical assistance, support, training and presentations. The Applications Engineer shall work to develop the Company’s business throughout the customer base of Jands.
Key Responsibilities include:
- In consultation with Business Development Managers, Account Managers, Technical staff representatives, prepare accurate and thorough audio systems designs to meet client customer requirements.
- Take responsibility for assigned system designs and ensure all projects are completed within specified timeframes.
- Ensure effective liaison and communication with internal and external customers with regards to the status of designs.
- Maintain a current and accurate project log detailing current status of all projects in hand via the Jands CRM platform.
- Ensure client/customer support requests are responded to promptly and in a professional manner.
- Ensure support requests are updated and documented via the Jands CRM platform.
- Assist to prepare, test and despatch resources and equipment for events, tradeshows, internal and external training schools and demonstrations as required.
- Assist the Technical team with bump in/bump out for tradeshows and events at a range of venues.
- Stay up to date with current industry trends and developments, providing market intelligence to management that may increase Jands competitive advantage in the marketplace.
- Undertaking general duties associated with the group’s peripheral activities as directed. Attend Company in-house training sessions.
About You:
- Current Drivers’ Licence
- Tertiary qualification in audio system design/acoustics or equivalent experience within the AV industry.
- Broad industry experience in the design, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of professional AV and control systems in applications such as corporate, education, Broadcast and live production.
- A comprehensive understanding of the requirements and operation of modern sound systems including system operation.
- A good understanding of IT and networking as it applies to modern AV and control systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to negotiate and communicate (in writing and verbally) with all levels of stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Extensive CAD experience, preferably VectorWorks.
- Experience with acoustic simulation packages, including EASE.
- Extensive experience with audio DSP platforms, preferably Biamp Tesira or similar.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, coupled with sound administrative skills.
