Whispering Jack – John Farnham’s 12th studio album – was released on October 20 1986 and went on to be awarded 24 x Platinum, selling over 1.7million copies and spent 26 weeks at the No.1 spot on the ARIA charts. To celebrate Australia’s most successful album ever, John has embarked on a national tour this month – 25 years to the day after the album’s release.
John Farnham and his band perform the first half of the show unplugged featuring very special versions of some of his biggest hits as never heard before. The second half of the show features his band performing for the first time on stage, the entire Whispering Jack album.
Lighting designer Chris Newman has kindly agreed to conduct a tour of his lighting in Brisbane on November 6th. The rig includes 18 x Mac 2000 Profile Active (+ spares) c/w Woodroffe Gobo sets, 10 x Mac 2000 Wash Active (+ spares), 30 x VLX Wash Active (+ spares), 30 x Clay Paky Alpha Beam 700 Active (+ spares), 3 x MR16 strips (or similar for d/s floor fill), 10 x DWE 8 light, 10 x Source 4 Profiles – 10 degree beam angles, 12 x ACL battens and 2 x FOH Follow Spots. Control is a MA Lighting grandMA 1 console with a Catalyst V4 System, Grass Valley HD Video player and 55 x 12mm dot pitch LED panels for video.
