The Bon Jovi Because We Can: The Tour comes in two formats; the stadium show and the arena show and fortunately Melbourne will be getting the full stadium show, not an arena design altered for stadium dates.
Designed by Performance Environment Design Group (Doug “Spike” Brant), the entire stage has been turned into the front end of a ’59 Buick Electra. The band plays standing in front of the 130’ wide car’s grille, flanked by the four headlights that are each 10’ in diameter. The windscreen of the car is a video.
The massive lighting rig includes PRG Bad Boys and Best Boys, GLP impressions X4s, Clay Paky Sharpys, Chromlech Elidy-S, Atomic and Hungaroflash strobes, Expolite TourLED IP67 LED PARs, Philips Color Kinetics ColorBlast, Brite Box Flame 1.6kW Followspots, Robert Juliat Lancelot 4kW Followspots.
Lighting director Sooner Routhier has kindly agreed to conduct a tour of the lighting THIS SUNDAY!!
Where: Etihad Stadium, Melbourne
When: Sunday December 8th
