Alongside showcasing a selection of fixtures from the company’s existing catalogue of professional luminaires through a lightshow programmed by concert LD Steve Kosiba, ADJ Lighting exclusively introduced many new products. Visitors to the expo were the first to discover the new Vizi Beam CMY automated beam luminaire, the ElectraPix series of lime-infused hex LED wireless bars and par, the next generation Aria X2 wireless DMX system, and the much-anticipated IP-rated additions to the popular Jolt Series of multifunction LED strobe/wash fixtures.
ADJ’s Jolt Series features a collection of potent fixtures which each feature brilliant bright white strobe/blinder LEDs combined with multi-coloured chase effects in the same versatile unit. Taking the series to the next level, the new Jolt Bar FXIP offers the same creative potential but that can be utilized outdoors in any weather conditions. The IP65-rated linear fixture features a central strip of 112 x 5W cool white SMD LEDs, surrounded on both sides by a total of 448 x (significantly brighter) 1.5W RGB colour mixing SMD LEDs. This allows the same fixture to generate intense white strobing as well as coloured washes and strobe effects. Both types of LED are grouped into independently controllable zones (16 white and 32 colour), which means the unit can also be used to generate strobe chases and other “eye candy” effects. Packed with advanced features, this new fixture is wireless DMX enabled and offers a variety of DMX channel modes and internal program macros. It is supplied with a frost lens assembly that easily attaches to the front of the unit as well as a connecting plate that allows multiple units to be aligned seamlessly.
Generating a similar effect, the Jolt Panel FXIP features a more condensed panel design. It is equipped with 800 x 1.5W RGB SMD LEDs for colour strobe, wash, and eye candy effects, as well as 48 x 5W cool white SMD LEDs located in the centre of the fixture to create the traditional look of a strobe. Both types of LED are grouped into independently controllable zones (6 white and 40 colors), allowing for the creation of eye-catching animated chase patterns. It too offers an IP65 ‘weather-proof’ rating, wireless DMX, multiple DMX channel modes and internal programs, and a mechanism for easily applying Light Shaping Filters. The fixture is supplied with a variable angle bracket but also features a rear mounting point that allows direct connection of an Omega bracket.
The next evolution in ADJ’s Vizi Series of automated luminaires, the new Vizi Beam CMY is a powerful and feature-packed dedicated beam fixture. Harnessing the full potential of the 310W Osram Sirius HRI discharge lamp, paired with precision-engineered optics, it generates a potent and crisp 2-degree beam that is ideal for generating awe-inspiring aerial effects. Lighting Designers can unlock a spectrum of possibilities with CMY colour mixing, paired with a 14-color dichroic wheel that includes CTO (3200K), CTB (9000k) & UV filters. In addition, the fixture offers a versatile GOBO wheel loaded with 17 static patterns (including 4 beam reducers) and a dynamic GOBO shake effect. Users can also enjoy the flexibility of on-board wireless DMX, motorized focus, 16-bit fine focus and high-speed 3-phase pan and tilt motors which deliver fast movement and meticulous control. The fixture’s extensive feature set also includes two rotating prisms (16-facet circular and 6-facet linear) which may be overlayed and a frost filter for creating wash effects.
Offering a host of advanced features, the ElectraPix Bar 8 is a cutting-edge 0.5-meter linear LED wash fixture. Equipped with a wireless DMX transceiver and high-capacity internal rechargeable battery, this IP65-rated fixture can be used safely and reliably in absolutely any location without any form of wired connection. It features eight individually controllable 20-watt hex colour LEDs (RGBAL+UV) paired with 32 background 0.2-watt RGB LEDs, providing unparalleled control and creativity. The inclusion of a lime LED chip allows for an enhanced CRI and variable white colour temperature control of 2,700K ~ 9,900K. Meanwhile, the UV chip provides the “black light” effect which causes white and neon coloured décor and clothing to glow when used alone, and can also be combined with the other chips to create vibrant colours like hot pink, deep purple, and electric blue. With built-in foreground and background LED programs and an intuitive menu-driven interface displayed on a large OLED display, the fixture is easy to configure and program. Designed for adaptability, it is supplied with an optional 20-degree diffusion filter and UCIR24 wireless remote. It features adjustable feet and an integral L Track system which allows convenient connection of a wide variety of rigging accessories.
The ElectraPix Bar 16 offers the same advanced feature set as the ElectraPix Bar 8 but in a larger 1-meter-long format. It features 16 potent 20-watt hex colour LEDs (RGBAL+UV), which can each be controlled individually, alongside 66 background 0.2W RGB LEDs. Offering the same versatility as its smaller sibling, including the versatile L Track rigging system, this powerful and versatile fixture offers huge potential for a wide variety of stage and event lighting applications.
Completing the new ElectraPix Series, the ElectraPix Par 7 is a complementary LED par fixture. Packed with all the advanced features of the bar models, it boasts seven main colour-calibrated 20-watt hex LEDs (RGBAL+UV), paired with 29 background 0.2W RGB LEDs, packaged in a compact and lightweight fixture. It offers a concise 17-degree beam angle but is supplied as standard with a gel frame and 20-degree diffusion filter. The unit is supplied with a variable angle hanging bracket/floor stand with an integral L Track rigging point for maximum versatility.
Finally, LDI 2023 saw the official worldwide launch of the new Aria X2 wireless DMX technology. This next-generation multi-band system is designed to increase the reliability and transmission range for cable-free communication of a DMX signal between console and fixtures. This advanced proprietary protocol involves the creation of a wireless mesh where all Aria X2 devices within a given system transmit the DMX signal to one another to create an extremely robust network. On display at ADJ’s LDI booth will be the Aria X2 Transmitter, which features both 900MHz and 2.4GHz antennas as well as 5-pin DMX input and thru connections. An Aria X2 network can be configured from the large display screen located on the front of the transmitter or using a dedicated mobile app. In addition, the app can also be used to remotely configure compatible fixtures and provide basic DMX control. All the new lighting fixtures debuting at LDI 2023 are equipped with Aria X2 compatible wireless transceivers as are many of the other ‘new ADJ’ fixtures released recently.
