In a glittering ceremony (the back drop was silver drapes slashed with coloured LED PAR56s) the AV Industry Awards (AVIAs) for 2011 were presented last night in the Headroom at the Integrate Show.
Best AV Installation $1m+ was a dead heat with AVIAs being presented to
think!OTS, VIC for the Discover Theatre in the Australian Pavilion at World Expo 2010 in Shanghai and
Advanced Video Integration, QLD for their work on the Queensland Emergency Operations Centre
Best Installation under $1m went to Australian Sound Service, VIC for the Sound Masking System in the ANZ Bank HQ in Melbourne’s Docklands
Best application of AV in Education went to Rutledge Engineering, VIC for the Victoria University – Learning Commons & Exercise Science & Sports Precinct
Best AV Production went to think!OTS, VIC for the Discover Theatre in the Australian Pavilion at World Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
A Special Commendation was awarded to think!OTS, VIC for Trapped – Faces Theatre at Sovereign Hill, Ballarat.
The ALIA was represented on the panel of six industry judges by LDs Scott Allan and Joseph Mercurio.
