Recently, Harry the hirer Productions went to the market looking to upgrade their lighting inventory with some new ellipsoidals and as a result they put three lighting fixtures against one another from various brands. After getting a sample of the CHAUVET Professional Ovation E-910FC from Showtools International, it became clear this was the profile fixture needed and the one that ticked all the requirements to have in their impressive inventory.
“When we put the Ovation E-910FC up against two other similar fixtures we were both surprised and impressed with how good it was,” stated Simon Finlayson General Manager at Harry the hirer Productions. “We then made the decision to acquire 100x of the Ovation E-910FCs and this quantity shows our commitment to the product. The quantity and quality of these fixtures also enables us to support some of the most demanding LX events.”
The Ovation E-910FC is a high-performance ERS-style fixture with full RGBA-Lime colour mixing and colour temperature presets of 2800 to 6500 K that match the output of a tungsten source to perfection.
“The Ovations provide us with the colour-changing capability due to their RGBA-lime colour-mixing engine, Simon described. “With outstanding features including ultra-smooth 16-bit dimming of master dimmer and individual colours – flat, even field of light with superior colour mixing. Also, with a virtual colour wheel that’s colour matched to popular gel colours, it will serve all our customer’s needs.”
Simon continued, “The E-910FC’s ability to provide different tones and colour depending on the event or show will be incredibly useful. The RGBA-lime fixtures can serve as keylights as well as colour washes. Being able to flip the colour from the Ovations to anything we need is hugely helpful and the ability of the Ovation fixtures to project very crisp gobos is a positive.”
“The E-910FC also comes equipped with Adjustable PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to avoid flickering on camera and virtually silent operation for use in studio and theatre applications which makes it extremely versatile,” stated Simon.
Another factor in acquiring the Ovation fixtures was the multiple lens choices available. “With the Ovation range from CHAUVET Professional the range of lens sizes is great, they offer 14, 19, 26, 36 and 50 degree lenses,” Simon explained. “Lens tubes are constructed using high-precision HD optics encased in rugged housings designed to survive the rigors of touring, broadcast and theatrical production which is perfect for what we need. The Dual aspheric lenses provide precise focus for crisp gobo projection.”
