Armor Cases, a Sydney-based manufacturer specialising in protective transport solutions, has released a custom flip console case purpose-built for the Midas M32 digital mixing console. Developed for professional users in the live audio and touring industries, this case delivers a fast, practical, and space-efficient solution for deploying and transporting one of the most commonly used consoles in production environments.
The flip console case has been designed to enable an efficient single-operator setup. Once on-site, the user simply removes the lift-off top lid, opens the dual front doors, and gives the console a gentle lift. The integrated gas strut system takes over from there, automatically assisting the console into its angled working position. This mechanism significantly reduces setup time and eliminates the need to remove the mixer from the case entirely, making it ideal for high-turnover productions, smaller crews, or fast-changeover festival environments.
The case body is constructed from 12mm birch veneer plywood, selected for its balance of structural integrity and manageable weight. The build is finished with Penn Elcom hardware, a standard across Armor Cases’ product line for its proven durability in professional touring applications. Reinforced edging, latches, and corners ensure the case withstands repeated handling, loading, and transport with minimal wear.
Internally, the case is lined with high-density EVA38 foam material known for its superior shock-absorbing capabilities. The foam has been custom-cut to accommodate the M32 securely, cushioning it from impacts and vibrations during movement. This level of internal protection ensures that sensitive components, such as faders, rotary encoders, and display screens, remain in optimal working condition.
Two drawer-style compartments are integrated into the inside faces of the front doors. These closed-lid storage pockets provide dedicated space for essential accessories such as show files, microphones, cables, and power leads, helping operators stay organised and prepared on-site.
For mobility, the case is fitted with four castors, two of which feature locking brakes. This allows the case to be rolled easily through venues, trucks, and stages, then securely parked in place for stable use during operation. The compact footprint and streamlined design also make it a practical option for space-constrained FOH setups or venues with limited storage access.
This flip console case for the Midas M32 reflects Armor Cases’ ongoing commitment to practical, user-informed design. Built with a deep understanding of how audio professionals work, it combines rugged protection with setup efficiency, making it a valuable tool for any production company, rental house, or live sound engineer working regularly with the M32 console.
